The City of Prescott has decided to eliminate the $80,000.00 it has been contributing annually to the Adult Center of Prescott. Funds will diminish to zero in less than five years. The Board of Directors of the Adult Center has been looking into various options to replace the lost revenue without sharply increasing membership dues and class/activity fees. Their first approach is trying to obtain a club liquor license. Currently, the Center has rentals that serve liquor. With a liquor license, the Center would derive income from the sale of liquor at these events. Also, the Center would be better able to monitor liquor consumption at these events. Fifty-one per cent of the membership must sign a petition before an application can be submitted to the State of Arizona. Petitions are at the front desk and in the administration office. Please come in and sign the petition. Questions, comments or suggestions—please call Joan Shay at 778-3000, or send an email to acenter@adultcenter.org.
